Cookie policy
The cookies the Yelzi website uses, what each one does and how long it lasts, how the cookie bar works and how to change your choice.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website keeps in your browser. yelzi.com uses only its own (first-party) cookies: no third-party cookies, no advertising cookies and no separate analytics cookies.
The cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
__Host-yelzi_age | Remembers the 18+ confirmation (flag + time, no birth date) | 30 days | Essential |
__Host-yelzi_rt | Guest viewer session to play free episodes (HttpOnly) | 90 days | Essential |
__Host-yelzi_iid | Random web install key of the guest (HttpOnly) | 400 days | Essential |
yelzi_consent | Remembers the analytics choice | 6 months | Essential |
yelzi_locale | Remembers your language so we do not ask again | 1 year | Essential |
Every one of them is essential to something you ask the website to do. The session cookies (yelzi_iid and yelzi_rt) cannot be read by JavaScript (HttpOnly) and are set only when you open an episode page or after you accept analytics.
Analytics
If you choose “Accept all”, the website sends us usage events (such as a page opened, a series opened, the download-the-app button tapped) through the same viewer session that plays videos. This helps us improve the website.
If you choose “Essential only”, or have not chosen yet, the website sends no events at all, not even while you watch.
Browser controls
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the essential cookies, the age check and playing free episodes on the website will not work.
The Yelzi app
The Yelzi phone app does not use browser cookies. It keeps the session in the device's secure storage; see the Privacy policy
