Count Viktor Dragomir, 82, died suddenly in his study. His four estranged children gathered at the castle to hear the reading of his will. Violation meant total forfeiture of the multi-billion-euro inheritance. Everyone agreed. On the first night, a young maid vanished. On the second, her body was found in the wine cellar—bearing two fang marks on her neck. Yet, before anyone could call the police, the dinner bell tolled seven times, and there sat Viktor at the head of the table. He had not risen from the dead; he had been alive for over two hundred years, sustaining his life with the blood of his descendants. The will was not about dividing an inheritance, but about selecting who would gain immortality—and who would become food.
